Au Coin du Feu (by the fireside), ... the
very name is an invitation to well-being. And what
a pleasure it is, with the first chill of
winter, to find oneself in a warm ambience in
which a pleasant existence is a daily matter. This
is not a hotel - it's a friends' chalet.
Far
from city life, the Coin du Feu in Megève
invites you to discover a new kind of mountain
living, in quiet surroundings where snowmen blend wonderfully with
bread and honey, sleigh rides and the first ski
lessons.
But certain rites should be carried out amidst the
naive paintings and bouquets of dried flowers. Tea time
is one of them, around the big fireplace devouring
the logs, where you are surprised to find yourself
ordering thousand-flavoured teas between two hearty pieces of bilberry
tart.
Good eating is also de rigueur in the evening,
and at Saint-Nicolas restaurant, rightly considered one of the
best in the region. Guests savour traditional and inventive
cuisine, tinged here and there by local flavours.
Megève will
leave you
